European Casino Association Undergoes Significant Changes in 2024
The European Casino Association (ECA) has experienced a series of transformative changes this year, with several new appointments to its board.
Erwin Van Lambaart, the current chairman of the ECA, continues to play a pivotal role in the organisation. Van Lambaart, who has held this position with distinction, was also awarded the Executive of the Year award at the Global Gaming Awards 2024, recognising his significant contributions to the gaming industry.
In addition to Van Lambaart, the ECA has welcomed new board members. Simon Thomas, hailing from the Hippodrome Casino, has been appointed to the board. Alongside Thomas, Petra de Ruiter, CEO at Holland Casino, and Albert Manzone, Deputy CEO at SBM, have also joined the ECA's ranks.
Tiina Siltanen, who brings over two decades of experience in the gaming industry, has been promoted to the senior vice chair in the ECA. Siltanen is renowned for her role in developing Casino Cosmopol's poker offering in Sweden and currently oversees Veikkaus casinos in Finland.
Laurent Lassiaz has taken on the role of vice chair in the ECA.
The ECA represents national casino associations and individual operators, with approximately 900 casinos and over 70,000 employees spread across 298 countries. The association's mission is to address and promote issues pertinent to the operations of land-based casinos.
Recently, the ECA has observed a 'reverse Brexit' trend in its membership, with several UK casinos rejoining its ranks. This development underscores the ECA's growing influence and significance in the gaming industry.
